The Book of Esther
This work “The Book of Esther” taken from the Bible. This is the second book where God’s name is not mentioned. But even though it was mentioned in the Bible. This story talks about how God saved Israel from the hand of evil people against the Jewish. As well as it tells about how the Purim festival was started during the kong xerox's region and till now we are celebrating the Purim festival. According to the theory this book was written during the 14th century BC.
The first chapter describes the setting Persian capital of Susan. King Ahasuerus was the king in this region. Three years once he conducted a huge banquet for showing off his luxurious and property. This massive party was going on for one hundred and eight days. Both important and unimportant people were gathered there to saw the king’s wealth. The queen, Vasthi, also conduct a separate party for women. On the seventh day, the king invites Vasthi to show her beauty to the gathering, but she refused his invitation. So the king was so raged. Because all people were gathered there, in front of them she insults the king. He asked the sages to ask about the punishment for her misbehaviour. They answered that she was disobedient to her husband and she was the wrong example of all wives in their kingdom. So they ask the king to dismiss her from the court. As per the sage’s words, the king divorce queen Vashti. And he asks everyone in his kingdom, that man should be the master of their home. So the king orders his provisions to search for a new queen for his kingdom. So they ask the number of virgin girls to join in for the selection. Parallel to this story, a good Jewish man lived in the same town called Mordecai. He raised an orphan Esther as his own child. Once in their town they heard about the king’s harem, Esther also joins there. Soon she reaches the highest place in the king’s harem. As the result, she was selected as a new spouse in their region. But she hasn't said that she was a Jewish girl because a Jewes was against Persian law to marry the king and also her father asked her not to tell the truth. As for how things going on for Esther in the haram. Till now Esther hasn’t seen the king. After so much treatment and training, she was going to see the king that night. Because in those days every night king spend his time with each woman, and at that time king will fulfil his haram’s wish. The next day was Esther's turn, she was so restless that after twelve months she was going to meet him. Due to Ester's way of approach and her character, the king likes her very much. So he decided to replace Vasthi place. Now Esther becomes the queen of his region. Due to announce this and honour her king conduct the party.
At that time, Mordecai was sitting near the palace gate. At that time he overhears two men planning how to assassinate the king. To save the king, Mordecai tells this assassinating plan to Queen Esther. And he asks her to tell his name to the king. Due to this king was escaped, so Mordecai good deed was recorded in the king’s annals. After these events, the king promotes a man named Haman to be his new counsellor. He ordered everyone that everyone should bowhead in front of Hamman when he passes. During one of his visit, Mordecai was refused to bow down his head, because as a jew he wants to bend down his head in front of god only. Everyone convince him to bow his head down, but he was more stubborn. Hamman was so many rages with him. He decided to kill him and he thought that killing his not enough, but to kill his whole community people.
To take revenge, he went to the king's palace and he said that in their region, one group of people following different kinds of rules. And they are against their’s kingdom's rule. King gave permission to carry out the act. So Hamman sends letters to every official that on a specific day of twelfth month to kill each and every jew man, women and even children also. Due to this, there was a huge confusion happened in the royal capital of Susan. All Jewish people were so much worried about this act, even Mordecai too worried. But Queen Esther doesn't know about this genocide matter. Soon Mordecai sends the decree to Ester and asks her to help prevent the human genocide. Ester was so much worried about this act. She doesn’t know what to do. She asks for help from Mordecai, and tell him that the king order that without his permission no one was allowed to the king’s court, so she itself was not able to see the king. Mordecai said that to help people from genocide God made Esther become the queen of this kingdom. Esther agrees and asks every Jewish people to take fasting for three days along with her. As per her wish, Mordecai organises the fasting. At the end of the third day, the Ester went to the king’s place in the palace. Moreover, the permission to accept her request to saw him. After it was a long gap, the king was so much excited to saw her. He asks her to wish whatever she wants. She invites the king to the fest who was conducting the next day by Esther. King also accepted her invitation. On the eve of the party, the king was so much happy to be there, again he ask Ether’s wishes, she said that again she will come to conduct the party, so she pleased to the king to attend that party with Hamman. Hamman was so much happy to invite him to the queen's party. Return to his home, he saw Mordecai who was sat near the palace. This time also he didn’t bow in front of Human. After his home, he said that in all area people bow their head, but only one Jewish man was refused to bow. So his wife and children ask him to build massive gallows on which to hang Mordecai. He too pleased with the advice. That night, the king was worried about insomnia. So he asks his servant to read about the king’s annals. In there he heard the name of Mordecai. he decided to honour Mordecai who didn’t receive any rewards for saved his life from the assassination. The next day Haman came to the court, intending that Mordecai should hang on the massive gallow which he itself build. But before that king asks him to the procedure for a person to honour in their region. Hamen think that the king was talking about honouring Hamen, so he recommended huge nice things, he said that the person should, led through the king’s procession announcing his honour. Then the king replied that it should be done for Mordecai. Hamen was shocked to hear this.
At the queen’s second banquet, after her prayer, she reveals her identity as a jew. And she asked for the king to save her life and the lives of her people. Due to her prayer and her people prayer, the king was behaving like a normal person. Then he asked about the wicked person who decided to do these things. She says that it was done by Haman. Due to this, Haman realises that the king will kill him, so he pleaded with him. But the king didn’t give any mercy to him. So he dragged the queen, obviously, it didn’t help that kin’s give mercy. So he ordered to drag him off to be executed. Things changed because of Esther. King ordered to kill Haman and reverse his plan to Jewish people. King gave Haman's house to Esther. But she gave this to Mordecai. Ester pleased the king not to generate the Haman's act, he too accepted it and sent the letters to every official that don’t do any genocide towards Jewish people. And he gave special power to Jewish people to defend themselves using violence if needed. All the jews were happy, they celebrate their victory in each and every parts of the town. On the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, they gathered and killed their enemies. The jews killed over five hundred people in the capital of Susan, along with this they killed Haman's ten sons. Esther again pleaded with the king, that the Jews want to kill their enemies for another day. And she asks him to allow, the dead bodies of three hundred people and Haman's ten sons should be hanged. On that another day, the jews killed seventy-five thousand’s of their enemies. This act was followed by the fourteenth and fifteenth day of the month. King announced that the fourteenth and fifteenth day should be considered as Adar as a holiday for every year. To celebrate this people can share their love, gifts, feasting and making merry. At last, Mordecai becomes the king’s second-in-command.
