Santhosh Yadav
Santhosh Yadav was born in a society where a boy child was always considered a blessing and the girl child was not that much welcomed by them. When one "holy man" was crossing her home (at the time of giving birth to Santhosh ), he came to her home forgave her blessing, Santhosh grandmother asked the holy men to bless her with a girl child. Everyone was shocked even the holy men also shocked. Because even one in their society was asked boy child only. Then he gave his blessings and moved. Next Santhosh Yadav was born as the sixth child in her family. She has five elder brothers. And she was the last youngest sister.

Santhosh's lifestyle:
The girl was named a "Santhosh" which means contentment. She started to begin her life in her own way. When other girls were used to wearing Indian traditional dresses. She preferred only shorts. She stated, "From the very beginning I was quite determined that if I chose a correct and a rational path, the others around me had to change, not me."
Fight for his studies:
Santhosh's parents were landowners who could afford their children to the best school, even to the new Delhi which was very near to her village. But due to the customs, they were allowed Santhosh to study in the local school. For that system of society, she fought for it. And in their society, when a girl reached the age of sixteen should get married. So she was under pressure from her parents. She threatened her family if she was not getting a proper education she would never marry in her life. After that, she enrolled herself in Delhi school. There also her parents refused to pay the fees. So she politely informed her parents that if they didn't give her money for her studies, then she will go to a part-time job. For this reason, her parents agreed to pay for her fees.
First inspiration from Kasturba hostel:
After she completed school, she decided to continue her college. Slowly her father also agreed with her education. With the help of her father, she went to Jaipur and joined Maharani college. Then she got a room in the Kasturbai hostel. Which was faced the Aravalli Hills. She used to watch the villagers whose was going up and suddenly they vanished. It was her first inspiration from them. She decided to climb the mountain with the villagers. When she asked them to join with others, the answers in the affirmative and motivated her to climb the mountain.
Moved to Nehru Institute of Mountaineering:
Due to her passion for mountaineering, she saved her money and enrolled at Uttarkashi's Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. Her college in Jaipur was used to over in end April but it was ended on the nineteenth of May. And she was supposed to join in Nehru Institute on the twenty-first. So she wasn't able to go home. Without went home, she directly joined the Nehru Institute and started her training. Without the father's permission, she enrolled herself and joined so that she asked to apologize to her parents.
Santhosh's hard work:
In Nehru Institute she started her training. Day to day she was learning something new. She went on an expedition every year. She rapidly increased her climbing skills. She had remarkable resistance in cold and hot. That much willpower she had with her. She proved herself repeatedly.
Santhosh claimed Mt.Everest:
After four years of hard work, in 1992, at the age of 20, she scaled M. Everest. She was the youngest women who were achieved the feat. Her handwork, physical fitness, mental strength was impressed by her seniors. In 1992, in the Everest mission, Santhosh was placed one among them. When she was climbing, she tried to save one of her climbers but it was failed. But later she saved another climber who was, Mohan Sing.
Next mission on Mt.Everest :
Within twelve months, Indio-Nepalese women's expenditure they invited her to join with them. For the second time, she climbed Mt. Everest. She was the only woman who climbed Mt.Everest twice. She collected 500 kilogrammes of garbage from the Himalayas. Due to her achievements, the Indian national government honours, the Padmashri award for her. She said, "It took some time for the enormity of the moment to sink in... Then I unfurled the Indian tricolour and held its slots on the roof of the world. The feeling is indescribable. The Indian flag was flying on top of the world. It was truly a spiritual moment. I felt proud as an Indian."
